Job summary

Relative Dynamics is seeking a Mid-Level System Engineer to support the USGS EROS Center in Sioux Falls, SD. This full-time onsite role requires in-person collaboration with scientists and partners in a fast-moving environment.

You will work on ground station RF equipment, satellite communications systems, and lifecycle engineering activities with experienced engineers and project teams. US citizenship and ITAR considerations apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Satellite Communications/Systems Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Work on meaningful Earth science and sustainability projects.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers and mentors who are passionate about innovation.
• Gain hands-on experience with Satellite Communications and system development.
• Provide hardware engineering support and maintenance for ground station RF equipment, including procurement and integration.
• Develop ground-based systems in accordance with mission requirements (antennas, RF equipment, and ground station gear).
• Communicate and coordinate status with Systems and Software Engineers and Operators.
• Conduct systems engineering activities per the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP).
• Support decomposing operations concepts into detailed requirements and documenting interfaces.
• Perform architecture and trade studies; execute formal integration testing and analysis.
• Assist with remote integration activities and ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
