Job summary

Viasat is seeking a BFT2 Technical Services Engineer to deliver remote and on-site support for government and commercial SATCOM systems, hubs, and terminals. You’ll handle deployment, testing, documentation, training, and ongoing maintenance with a multi-disciplinary team.

The role requires 5+ years’ experience with RHEL, Ansible, Cisco, and Linux servers, plus the ability to work complex IP networking across OSI layers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience with RHEL, Ansible and Cisco networks.
• Proven SATCOM network and terminal problem-solving ability.
• Linux-based servers experience and OSI-layer networking know-how.
• Ability to participate in on-call rotations and travel up to 50%.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain an active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote and on-site support for BFT2 networks and terminals.
• Assist deployment, testing, documentation, training, operation, and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot software, hardware, IP networking, and configuration issues.
• Collaborate with customers and Viasat teams; participate in on-call rotation.
• Support CONUS and OCONUS installations and network maintenance.
