Senior SATCOM Systems Integration Engineer

Job summary

Viasat is seeking a senior systems engineer to serve as a key technical contributor across the full engineering lifecycle for mission-critical SATCOM, RF infrastructure and ground network programs.

You will collaborate with multiple teams to design, integrate, test, and modernize systems, maintain technical documentation, and lead verification, validation and certification activities. A DoD TS/SCI clearance and travel up to 30% are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience in systems integration engineering, design engineering, integration and test, field engineering or related technical disciplines
• Proven experience supporting DoD, IC, or mission-critical ground antenna systems
• Experience designing, integrating, testing and deploying complex communications, RF, networking, or ground-based systems
• Knowledge of systems engineering processes including requirements and configuration management
• Experience creating engineering drawings, technical documentation, system diagrams and data packages
• Experience developing test plans, procedures and verification methods
• Understanding of sustainment concepts and modernization efforts
• Ability to analyze requirements and resolve complex engineering challenges across cross-functional teams
• US Government position and DoD TS/SCI security clearance

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Program Management, Design Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, Field Services and Customer organizations to develop technical solutions
• Support engineering efforts related to sustainment activities, refresh initiatives, and modernization
• Update designs, solutions and plans for satellite communications, RF systems, and ground infrastructure
• Perform system design activities including interface definition and engineering change implementation
• Maintain drawings, data packages, and as-built records to support deployments
• Lead system integration, verification, acceptance testing and certification
• Analyze test results and generate technical reports for customer sell-off and acceptance
• Collaborate with various teams to resolve technical issues and ensure successful implementation
• Support technical reviews, customer engagements and modernization initiatives
