Qualifications

• 5+ years in P&C insurance underwriting, underwriting operations, product, or related function.
• Ability to think strategically about underwriting process and rules construction.
• Exceptional attention to detail and precise rule language.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain rules clearly.
• Strong organization and ability to manage multiple rule initiatives.
• Comfort working with IT, analytics, and business stakeholders.
• Proactive ownership mindset for platform success.
• Experience with a business rules or decision management platform is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.

Responsibilities

• Own the Sapiens Decision platform for the business, ensuring rollout success and ongoing use.
• Collaborate with underwriting, product, and SMEs to draft rules with clear language.
• Strategize when rules should fire and how they interact across states and lines.
• Set roadmaps for rule sets and balance urgent needs with long-term potential.
• Partner with Analytics to monitor rule performance and quantify impact.
• Lead UAT for new/changed rules with evidence-based sign-off.
• Serve as primary liaison to IT on design, build, and release.
• Build relationships with underwriters to feedback learnings into rule design.
• Manage concurrent rule initiatives and keep stakeholders informed of progress.
• Identify new use cases for the platform across departments.
• Establish standards for rule authoring, naming, and governance.
• Provide timely reporting on rule performance and insights.
