Role: SAP SCM Test Lead
Location: Chicago, IL

Test Lead Job Description – Role and Responsibilities
- Develops and executes the project test strategy and plan.
- Provides leadership on functional testing, integration testing, ETE/scenario testing, and UAT.
- Assists in creating test cases, test scripts, and test criteria to validate all business requirements and interfaces.
- Oversees the preparation of the QA test environment.
- Leads in assigning and resolving testing-related defects in process, data, or Quintiq application defects to ensure timely project delivery with quality.
- Categories, reports, tracks, and prioritizes defect resolution.
- Develops and aligns test acceptance criteria with Smithfield IT and business stakeholders.
- Ensures clear acceptance and sign-off at various testing stages.
- Provides input to the project master plan and MS Project schedule regarding testing activities.
- Contributes to Smithfield's testing standards and processes.
Project Deliverables – Quintiq Modeling/Development Phase:
- Assists in creating core and non-core test cases/scripts.
- Supports performance/load testing in the Quintiq environment.
- Develops test strategy and test plan.
- Assists with Reality Check Scenarios (DITL).
Key Project Deliverables – Testing Phase/Iterative Development:
- Manages execution of all core and non-core test cases.
- Manages test execution related to constraints and KPIs for optimization.
- Supports acceptance testing for optimization and benchmarks.
- Assists with performance/load testing on Smithfield's environment.
- Monitors and reports test issues, defects, and test status.
- Manages test acceptance and exit criteria.
Role Prerequisites
- University degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.
- At least 5+ years of experience in SAP SCM and supply chain planning (forecasting, demand planning, supply planning, optimization), preferably in the protein/food industry.
- Minimum of 5 years in a Test Lead role within SAP and/or supply chain domains.
- Strong leadership, issue resolution, and conflict management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with IT and business stakeholders.
- Experience with Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) applications and SAP ECC systems.
- Experience with test management software such as HP ALM (Quality Center).
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.
