Job summary

This is a six-month contract position for a Finance SAP S/4 Hana Project Manager based in New Jersey. The role requires on-site presence 60% of the time and is focused on driving detailed workstream planning, execution, and coordination across a major enterprise transformation initiative.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed workstream plans, breaking down work into granular tasks with defined durations, dependencies, and resource assignments.
• Execute and update the detailed schedule daily, tracking progress and ensuring the plan reflects current project status.
• Coordinate daily workstream stand‑ups and support the functional, technical, data, and testing teams to remove blockers and maintain forward momentum.
• Document and follow up on action items to ensure accountability and timely resolution.
• Ensure functional teams, SMAs, and business stakeholders participate in workshops, testing activities, and training sessions as required.
• Manage deliverable tracking and quality control, ensuring all documents and artifacts are created, reviewed, and approved on schedule.
• Enforce quality gates and maintain traceability of artifacts (Business Process Design documents linked to Functional Specs, Technical Specs, Data Mapping sheets, Test Scripts) in Jira, SharePoint, or Tricentis.
• Maintain the workstream change impact log and manage change orders.
• Support early identification of risks and manage issues at the operational level, escalating critical or cross-workstream matters to the Program Manager.
• Ensure data cleansing and mitigation activities are executed by business users as planned.
• Support the coordination of test script creation and test cycle execution (SIT and UAT).
• Assign testers, track and manage defects, support retesting efforts, and conduct defect triage meetings.
• Validate that UAT test scenarios reflect real business processes and ensure readiness for all test cycles.
• Track cutover task completion, support mock cutover activities, and ensure data load readiness.
• Support hypercare triage and issue resolution activities post-cutover.

Qualifications

• Required
  • 5–10 years of experience in project management, with focus on detailed workstream planning and task management.
  • Proven experience coordinating cross-functional teams (functional, technical, data, and testing) in a structured program environment.
  • Strong ability to track and manage deliverables, enforce quality gates, and maintain artifact traceability.
  • Experience with testing coordination (SIT and UAT) and defect management.
  • Familiarity with risk, issue, and change management at the operational level.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, SharePoint, and/or Tricentis.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Preferred
  • Direct experience with Finance SAP S/4 Hana implementations or transformations.
