Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead transformative ERP programs for a major financial institution. You will drive cross-functional collaboration, manage risks, and coordinate data conversion and cutover activities with SAP S/4Hana expertise.

You will oversee multiple workstreams, manage budgets, and report project health to executives, ensuring on-time delivery and realization of program benefits. Experience with large vendor teams is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have major financial institution transformative program/project management experience.
• Prior SAP ERP project experience, preferably with SAP S/4 Hana.
• ERP project experience related to Data Conversion, Deployment Cutover planning and Execution.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple business partners and large data sets.
• Strong stakeholder relationship building and communication across leadership levels.
• Experience driving large scale tech-focused programs with internal and vendor resources.
• Ability to create and drive multiple project/workstream schedules in parallel.

Job description

1. Plans and coordinates closely with business/function area managers and cross functional subject matter experts and key project team members to drive project activities and issue resolution.

2. Works closely with, and provides direction to business, operations and technology leads to support program needs.

3. Ensures that project activities are on a path to deliver benefits realization.

4. Installs an appropriate risk management plan for the project and ensures adherence to company and unit requirements.

5. Follow our PMLC methodology, risk management routines, and project governance activities (working closely with Risk Program Portfolio Lead and Lead Business partners).

6. Proactively works to engage key stakeholders to understand and mitigate any cross team concerns/differences and leads group discussions to develop a resolution path to keep project activities on-schedule with appropriate risk mitigation.

7. Leads teams or multiple teams of internal and/or external resources on a project basis.

8. Manages project budget forecast and actuals in accordance with finance and reporting routines and methodologies.

9. Creates, maintains, analyzes and collectively manages variances to the project schedules and makes recommendation and/or creates action plan to mitigate negative variances or to resolve issues.

10. Prepares dashboard reporting to identify and communicate the health of the project for use by key executives (in alignment with existing project governance routines).

11. Prepares documentation/presentations to support overall workstream efforts and internal reporting routines, as needed

12. Proactively engages key stakeholders to plan, manage, and risk mitigate key items and critical path activities.

13. Proactively works to engage key stakeholders to understand and mitigate any cross team concerns/differences and leads group discussions to develop a resolution path to keep project activities on-schedule with appropriate risk mitigation.

14. Assist in the identification of change introduced by the project and coordinated with appropriate teams for planning and executing on "readiness" plans: Client Communications, Teammate Communications, and Teammate Training.

Must have-

Major financial institution (Category 1 or 2 bank) transformative program and/or project management experience.

Prior SAP ERP project experience (preferably recent experience with SAP S/4 Hana).

Prior ERP project experience related to Data Conversion, Deployment Cutover planning and Execution.

Proven ability to effectively manage complex projects and initiatives, including multiple business partners across different areas as well as large / complex data sets; demonstrated organization skills.

Proven stakeholder relationship building skills to engage and drive cross team collaboration at the project member and senior management stakeholder levels. Ability to communicate project status with equal effectiveness at all leadership and team member levels from both a project execution and business progression terms.

Experienced in driving large scale tech-focused programs/projects with large internal and vendor resource teams.

Ability to create and drive multiple project/workstream schedules in parallel.

Proactive/driven project management mindset and approach. Able to dive into problems with limited background context and help to drive stakeholder group through resolution option identification, resolution option reviews, and resolution option selection activities.

Nice to have -

Background in Accounting and Finance as either a business unit stakeholder or project management role with experience ensuring GAAP compliance, regulatory reporting, and profitability.

Prior experience with system and user acceptance test planning activities (preferably experience inclusive of end-to-end testing planning/execution with upstream, General Ledger, and downstream applications collectively).

Prior experience with Operational Controls related to Finance and Accounting operational activities and/or SOX controls/routines.

Experience with data strategy development and execution.

Prior experience with Rally tool.

PMP certification.

Ability to translate conversations with process owners and stakeholders into effective strategic plans, project objectives, and schedules to achieve expected project outcomes.
