Job summary

Connexion Systems & Engineering is seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager for a 6-month contract in Watertown, MA. You will lead cross-functional SAP workstreams, coordinating business and technical teams, and reporting status to executives.

The role requires 8–10 years in project management with SAP/ERP delivery, including GRC implementations, and strong stakeholder engagement in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.

• Experience with full lifecycle SAP implementations, enhancements, integrations, upgrades, or optimization.
• Experience in SAP GRC where access governance, role design, controls and remediation are involved.
• Experience coordinating SAP functional consultants, technical resources, and global teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead SAP workstreams within large cross-functional programs and ensure SAP deliverables meet governance and timelines.
• Own end-to-end delivery including new modules, enhancements, integrations, upgrades, remediation, and optimization.
• Develop detailed project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and cutover activities.
• Provide executive-ready communication on status, risks, decisions, milestones, and actions.
• Coordinate requirements, design, configuration, testing, training, and change management with stakeholders.

Description

A leading life sciences organization is seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager for a 6-month contract assignment supporting complex, cross-functional technology initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned project manager with a strong background in SAP/ERP delivery and SAP GRC implementations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading large-scale SAP workstreams, coordinating technical and business teams, managing complex dependencies, and communicating project status and risks to executive stakeholders.

What You'll Do

• Lead SAP workstreams within large, cross-functional programs, ensuring SAP deliverables align with overall program objectives, timelines, dependencies, business priorities, and governance requirements
• Own end-to-end delivery of SAP projects, including:
  • New module and capability implementations
  • System enhancements
  • Integrations
  • Upgrades
  • Remediation initiatives
  • Optimization projects
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, testing, cutover, and stabilization
• Ensure disciplined project execution in alignment with IT and PMO standards
• Serve as the primary project contact between IT and business stakeholders
• Provide clear, proactive, and executive-ready communication regarding project status, risks, decisions, milestones, and required actions
• Drive project governance, including working-team meetings, steering committee updates, decision tracking, RAID management, stage-gate readiness, and escalation of critical issues
• Partner with business and technical leads to coordinate requirements, solution design, configuration, integrations, data, testing, training, change management, cutover, and post-go-live support
• Identify, assess, and proactively manage SAP delivery risks and issues
• Manage cross-functional dependencies, resource constraints, data readiness, security and controls impacts, and business adoption considerations
• Ensure SAP solutions align with business objectives, internal controls, and measurable business value
• Promote accountability, transparency, and effective communication throughout project delivery

Required Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree required
• 8–10 years of project management experience, including experience leading SAP or ERP projects in complex, technology-driven environments
• Demonstrated experience managing full lifecycle SAP implementations, enhancements, integrations, upgrades, or optimization initiatives
• Experience across project phases including planning, requirements, design, build, testing, cutover, go-live, and stabilization
• Strong project planning and execution skills across:

  • Business readiness
• Experience coordinating SAP functional consultants, technical resources, business process owners, system integrators, and globally distributed teams
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to communicate complex project information clearly and concisely to executive-level stakeholders
• Strong ability to influence and collaborate across business and technology teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP security
• Experience with SOX and/or internal controls
• Experience delivering technology in a regulated environment
• Familiarity with PMO frameworks and stage-gate governance
• Experience with system development lifecycle documentation
• Experience working within enterprise application delivery models
