Job summary

NTT DATA Romania is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Project Manager to lead complex SAP deployments for global clients. You will plan, manage, and deliver multi‑phase implementations, coordinating work across functional and technical teams to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.

The role requires senior project leadership, deep SAP Activate knowledge, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions while maintaining excellent client relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in SAP Project Management.
• Multiple SAP full life‑cycle implementations (S4Hana on‑prem/cloud).
• Project management and team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of SAP Activate methodology and system architecture.
• Certified Project Manager (PMP) will be considered a plus.
• Fluent English and ability to travel for global projects.

Responsibilities

• Create SAP project planning and scheduling; report progress and financial status to Steering Committee.
• Refine and implement project standards, templates, and procedures; train staff on tools and templates.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to map current and future state processes and data.
• Drive configuration requirements and ensure SAP settings meet customer needs.
• Develop functional specs and coordinate with development teams on technical designs.
• Lead testing planning and execution with business users and stakeholders.
• Manage cutover and go‑live activities and post‑go‑live support.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Creation of SAP project planning and schedule. Monitor, control of implementation Team and execution of the Team Plans and schedules, reporting issues and progress including financial status of the project to Steering Committee
• Refine and implement project related standards, templates, and procedures. Ensure training of Team staff on the use of tools, templates, procedures, and standards as part of the SAP Deployment Effort
• Lead cross-functional teams to understand current state, future state landscape, organizational, master data and business processes and requirements
• Lead implementation team related to configuration requirement efforts and work to ensure that SAP settings meet requirements identified with customer
• Lead implementation team related to creation of functional specification for developments and support effectively communication between Functional Team and Development teams to understand
• Functional Specification documentation and to be able to build Technical Specifications for development of technical designs
• Lead security teams to Identify local security requirements and the creation of necessary security profiles
• Work with the business to organize testing session for validation of the solution implemented
• Work with local management to plan and schedule participation of key stakeholders in testing activities.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support during management of the execution of testing activities monitoring progress
• Work with Training team for developing the necessary training materials. Work with Training Factory to understand training content as part of Train the Trainer sessions.
• Work with local management to plan and schedule participation of key stakeholders in end user training activities
• Work with local management, Data Conversion team and Training team to plan and schedule cutover and go-live activities, identifying sequence of tasks, double entry, manual procedures, and load sequences involved
• Manage Deployment-related cutover and go-live activities
• Manage support post go-live, leading team to resolve post go-live issues

What We’re Looking For

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in SAP Project Management
• Multiple (over 5) SAP implementation full life-cycle experience (S4Hana green field implementation either on-prem either cloud, conversion to S4Hana, S4Hana upgrades, roll‑out projects)
• Project Management and Team Leadership experience
• Solid knowledge of SAP Activate implementation methodology, project management and system architecture.
• Certified Project Manager (PMP) will be considered a plus
• Solid analytical / problem solving skills
• Ability to evaluate IT and business challenges from a broad perspective.
• Strong influencing and excellent communication skills
• Ability to translate between non-technical business users and technical IT resources
• Strong client service attitude
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Flexibility to travel to support our local and/or global clients
• English fluency mandatory
