Job summary

NTT DATA Romania is seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join the uFlow team within the Service Solution & AI and Services tribe. You will design, develop, and maintain core modules for uFlow, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust services.

The role requires 5+ years of Java experience, deep knowledge of Java core concepts, multithreading, and design patterns, plus Spring, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs. CM/Fluxnova BPM experience and Oracle DB proficiency are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in computer science or similar.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience in Java.
• Strong understanding of Java core concepts, multithreading, and design patterns.
• Solid experience with Spring, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with Maven or Gradle for build automation.
• Experience using JIRA, Git (Stash/Bitbucket), and Confluence.
• Relational databases experience, especially Oracle DB and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop core application modules using Java, Spring Boot, Camunda/Fluxnova, and Oracle DB.
• Gather requirements from clients and translate into technical specs.
• Decompose tasks and provide accurate effort estimations.
• Identify and fix bugs; write unit tests and perform code reviews.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure maintenance.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct peer reviews.
• Stay updated with backend technologies and industry trends.

We are looking for a talented and passionate Backend Engineer to join our uFlow team within the Service Solution & AI and Services tribe. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining core application modules for uFlow, a critical component of our service offerings. This is a hands‑on position where you will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams and directly impact the success of our products.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design & Development: Design and develop core application modules using Java, Spring Boot, Camunda/Fluxnova, and Oracle DB.

• Requirements Gathering: Participate in client and stakeholder meetings to understand business needs and translate them into robust technical requirements.

• Task Estimation: Decompose complex tasks into manageable units and provide accurate effort estimations.

• Quality Assurance: Identify and resolve bugs, write comprehensive unit tests, and perform code reviews to ensure high-quality delivery.

• DevOps Support: Help maintain the technical infrastructure, including continuous integration and automated deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Mentorship: Conduct peer code reviews and mentor junior team members to foster a culture of continuous learning.

• Innovation: Stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies and industry trends in backend development.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor or Master Degree in computer science or similar

• Minimum of 5+ years of professional software development experience in Java.

• Core Concepts: Strong understanding of Java Core concepts, multithreading, and software design patterns.

• Frameworks & APIs: Solid experience working with Spring, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs.

• Build Tools: Proficiency with build automation tools such as Maven or Gradle.

• Collaboration Tools: Experience using JIRA, Git (Stash/Bitbucket), and Confluence for project management and collaboration.

• Databases: Practical experience with relational databases, specifically Oracle DB, and basic-to-intermediate SQL knowledge.

• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, a proactive problem‑solving attitude, and a strong desire to learn.

Nice to have:

• BPM Tools: Hands‑on experience with BPM engines (Camunda or Fluxnova preferred).

• Cloud Platforms: Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Advanced DB: Strong SQL optimization skills and experience with advanced database concepts.

• Containers: Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Helm for container orchestration.

• Leadership: Demonstrated technical leadership skills or experience mentoring junior engineers.
