Job summary

Wurth Industry North America is seeking a Production Planner to develop and execute production plans that balance customer demand with capacity and material availability. You will own SAP PP processes and collaborate with Operations, Sales, Forecasting, and Purchasing to support efficient production and customer service.

The role requires strong analytical skills, SAP PP experience, and the ability to optimize schedules while maintaining accurate planning data.

Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certification in Automation, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or related field.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or related field preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
3–7 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing planning, materials planning, scheduling, supply chain, or related operations function.
Experience with SAP Production Planning (PP) or a comparable ERP/MRP planning system.
Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, MRP, inventory management, material availability, and capacity planning concepts.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze data and develop reports to support planning decisions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.
Ability to independently evaluate planning requirements, identify risks, and make or recommend scheduling adjustments within established parameters.
Strong attention to detail with focus on accurate planning and system data.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity.
Create, release, maintain, and monitor production orders within SAP.
Execute MRP, analyze exceptions, and address planning requirements.
Monitor material availability and identify shortages or constraints.
Evaluate capacity and constraints and recommend scheduling adjustments.
Monitor progress and address delays, changes, shortages, or issues impacting dates.
Coordinate with Operations, Sales, Forecasting, Purchasing, and other teams to align priorities.
Maintain SAP PP master data and planning parameters.
Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Communicate production status and material/capacity issues to stakeholders.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, inventory management, SAP processes, and efficiency.
Support new product introductions, customer transitions, and other projects requiring planning expertise.
Perform other duties as assigned.
