Job summary

City of Elkins is seeking a Sanitation Worker to join our team on a full-time basis. Under supervision, you will collect and deposit garbage on city routes and help maintain trucks and facilities.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED; WV driver's license is desirable. This role includes overtime and requires physical stamina for lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Minimum Training and Experience:Requires high school diploma or GED; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Possession of a West Virginia driver's license is desired.

Physical Requirements: Tasks involve the regular, and at times sustained, performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which involves the lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of items of moderately heavy weight (up to 50 pounds) and occasionally heavier weight (up to 100 pounds).
