Job summary

Publix is seeking a sanitation associate to maintain cleanliness across production and storage areas. You will disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble equipment, apply chemicals, and support multiple departments in meeting sanitation needs.

Candidates must be able to lift 30+ pounds, obtain forklift certification, and work in a fast-paced environment. Strong attendance and teamwork are required for success at Publix.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to push or pull heavy equipment.
• Must be able to obtain a forklift license and operate a forklift.
• Must demonstrate excellent work habits in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Must demonstrate safe working habits.
• Must be able to lift in excess of 30 pounds frequently.
• Must possess general knowledge of machine operation.
• Must be able to use creative thinking for troubleshooting.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have good human relations skills (the ability to work well with others and be a team player).
• Must be able to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Disassembling and cleaning, sanitizing and reassembling all detachable production equipment.
• Applying various chemicals on different equipment and in environmental locations.
• Organizing and cleaning of kitchen, trash dock, and storage areas.
• Transporting racks, tubs, cardboard, and equipment to specific areas using a forklift and/or pallet jack.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of walls, vents, doors, drains, and garbage cans.
• Working with multiple departments to meet sanitation needs.
• Organizing air and water hoses.
• Rinsing out all empty drums.
• Helping maintain chemical storage area.
• Operating and maintaining floor scrubber.
• Assisting with housekeeping duties as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
