Job summary

Winland Foods, Inc. is hiring a Sanitation Team Member in St. Louis, MO. 1st shift from 7:00am to 3:00pm, full-time production role. You will operate, monitor and maintain processing equipment, ensure product safety, and support continuous improvement as part of a self-directed team.

The position requires the ability to lift up to 55 pounds, work in confined spaces, and participate in GMP/HACCP activities. Salary is $22.80 per hour with union benefits and accrued vacation after 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must possess good oral and written communication skills as well as basic math skills.
• Read, write, and communicate in English.
• Must be organized and detail oriented.
• At least 6 months’ experience in a food manufacturing facility.
• Able to lift at least 55 pounds and work in extreme conditions.
• Able to navigate stairs and ladders regularly.
• Learn to operate sanitation equipment (floor scrubbers, etc.).
• Able to use common hand tools safely.
• Work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Break down, clean, and sanitize food-processing equipment.
• Regularly work in confined spaces such as dryers and silos.
• Clean and maintain walls, floors, HVAC, ducts, lights, pipes, windows, ceilings.
• Maintain auxiliary rooms and outside areas of the facility.
• Mix and apply cleaning and sanitizing chemicals safely.
• Complete OSHA, food safety and HACCP paperwork.
• Participate in GMP or Food Safety audits and communicate results.
• Ensure equipment is maintained to produce safe, quality product.
• Comply with safety programs and keep hazards minimized.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
