Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. is seeking a sanitation associate responsible for effective cleaning in designated areas of our facility to ensure health and food safety daily.

You will apply GMPs, SSOPs, and plant policies to support a safe, high-quality product and reinforce safety as a core value. The role includes cleaning equipment, assisting with production tasks, and maintaining sanitary conditions to support SQF Level 3 certification.

Qualifications

• Some prior experience or training required.
• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and number sequences.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide using 10s and 100s.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to follow oral instructions and handle problems with one concrete variable.
• Ability to obtain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to climb ladders safely.
• Ability to follow GMPs, safety regulations and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to work indoors in a damp environment with industrial-strength cleaners and chemicals.
• Ability to wear all required PPE.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble production equipment and areas.
• Assist with setup/startup of designated production equipment.
• Assist with Clean Out of Place (COP) procedures.
• Inspect and maintain rodent control stations.
• Complete paperwork accurately and on time.
• Assist with production tasks as needed.
• Work effectively as a team member.
• Assist with PIT equipment such as forks and jacks.
