Job summary

ofi is seeking a Peanut Roaster Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe roasting area on site at our Edenton facility. The role emphasizes sanitation, equipment cleaning, and supporting the roasting team to ensure product quality and compliance with food safety standards.

You will perform weekly cleaning, handle caustic chemicals, operate control panels, and work weekends on 12-hour shifts. The position requires physical dexterity, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and adherence to GMP and OSHA

What You’ll Do - Position Responsibilities

• Duties will comprise of cleaning the Plant Roaster. This complex position will require the ability to multi-task on a regular basis with or without direct supervision. The ideal candidate should exhibit a strong work ethic. Take ownership of Roaster Cleaning process. Knowledge of Sanitation procedures for food processing
• The Peanut Roaster Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient roasting environment by performing sanitation, equipment cleaning, and post-processing cleanup tasks. This role supports the roasting team in ensuring product quality, compliance with food safety standards, and smooth production flow
• Perform weekly cleaning and sanitation of roasting equipment, bucket elevators, conveyors, pits, and work areas to prevent contamination and maintain hygiene.
• Remove and dispose of waste materials, spilled peanuts, and foreign matter from production lines and storage areas.
• Wear full faced respirator and remain clean shaven to maintain a respirator seal.
• Work with caustic chemicals.
• Ability to operate and adjust basic control panel.

Experience You’ll Bring – Role Requirements

• Follows Good Manufacturing Practices guidelines, OSHA Safety standards, and applicable health codes at all times
• Performs other duties, as assigned by Team Leader or Supervisor
• Maintain and clean Roasting Equipment to ensure optimal cleanliness prior to Production Startup and use of Roaster.
• Proven success at engaging and influencing fellow team members to share your passion for Roaster Cleaning.
• Experience with and strong desire to increase knowledge
• Proven proficiency at following directions.
• Ability to work every weekend from 7am until 7pm.
• Reliability is paramount.
• Standing and walking for extended periods of time
• Bending, stooping, and climbing
• Mental and physical dexterity
• Unassisted lifting up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Work in high/elevated temperatures due to heat of roaster
• Mandatory use of required personal protective equipment
• Repetition or sequence of duties such as using hands and arms to apply and rinse chemicals.
• Work in confined space within the Roaster.
• Ability to work every weekend and 12 hours shifts on Saturday and Sunday

The pay for this role ranges from $15.85/hr and is based on position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or other determining factors.
