ofi North America (Olam Food Ingredients) seeks a Pack Out Operator to manage packaging peanuts for shipment at an on-site peanut facility in Samson, AL. You will join the Pack Out team and ensure accurate lot tagging, weigh checks, and safe operation.

The role requires lifting, standing for long periods, and willingness to work rotating shifts, including early/late hours and weekends. Training on GMPs, HACCP, and PPE is provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary).
  • Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Transfer peanut sizing cuts from bins to the packaging station.
  • Program the lot number and start tote filling sequence.
  • Place USDA tags on totes for Positive Lot Identification (PLI).
  • Monitor check weights on the scale system printout.
  • Perform metal detector checks every 2 hours and magnet checks twice per shift.
  • Maintain packaging material and sanitation standards per GMPs.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor the Pack Out Operator will be responsible for the process of packaging peanuts for shipment along with the other team members of the Pack Out team.

Position Responsibilities
  • Transfer of peanut sizing cuts from the product bins to the packaging station. Stage packaging material at the bagging system and load the system with a pallet, slip sheet and hang a tote for filling.
  • Program the applicable lot number and start the tote filling sequence.
  • Place proper USDA tags on totes to ensure Positive Lot Identification (PLI)
  • Monitor the check weights on the scale system printout.
  • Performs metal detector checks on CCP# 1(HACCP) every 2 hours and performs magnet checks twice per shift.
  • Monitors the condition of packaging material being used and applies correct packaging as specified. Maintains the master sanitation schedule for the area.
  • Understand ofi Peanut Shelling safety policies, work safely and report any safety hazards or unsafe conditions to the Plant Manager or Safety Coordinator.
  • Follow ofi Peanut Shelling Company Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) guidelines.
  • Follow all ofi Peanut Shelling Company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Preventive Control Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • This role is performed on site at a facility that regularly processes peanuts Employees in this position will routinely work in areas where peanuts and related allergens are present and may be exposed by contact or in the air.
