Job summary

ofi North America (Olam Food Ingredients) seeks a Dryer Operator to run and maintain the oven, check heat, speed, and product quality at our Texas facility. This onsite role supports safe, efficient production and requires adherence to GMP, sanitation, and safety protocols.

The position involves working a scheduled shift with evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed; peanuts are present at the site. A competitive benefits package accompanies the hourly wage of $16.50.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED is preferred.
  • Zero to Five years manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Role is fully onsite at a facility that handles peanuts; allergens may be present.

Responsibilities

  • Keep the air filters rotated as needed.
  • Operate the dryer effectively and efficiently.
  • Keep the oven clean and clear of debris.
  • Maintain equipment and sanitation per GMP and safety programs.
  • Follow safety rules and report issues to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Reporting to Production Supervisor & Plant Manager, the Dryer Operator will assume responsibility for running and maintaining the oven by checking heat, speed, and product quality.

What You’ll Do - Position Responsibilities
  • Keep the air filters rotated as needed
  • Operate the dryer effectively and efficiently
  • Keep the oven clean and clear of skins, hearts, and other debris.
  • Keep the oiler filled on the chain and working properly.
  • Always Maintain clean work areas or when appropriate
  • While performing these duties the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or fell; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. You will occasionally lift and/or move heavy equipment or parts, 50 lbs. or assist others in moving, shifting, or positioning heavier objects.
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained, working, and used properly.
  • All employees are solely responsible for the Quality of Olam Edible Nuts products. Each employee must perform their job function in accordance with the GMP Rules and the Sanitation, Safety and Food Safety Programs.
  • Must follow safe work practices and comply with all company, federal and state rules and regulations which apply to job, including but not limited to, right to Know, emergency evacuation, electrical safety, confined space, blood borne pathogens, and lockout/tagout.
  • Keep the Shift Supervisor fully informed of all problems with recommended solutions.
  • Execute special projects and other job-related activities as directed.
  • Keep the oven room in a clean, neat, and organized manner.
  • Keep all areas assigned to you on the sanitation schedule maintained.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Experience You’ll Bring – Role Requirements
  • High School or GED is preferred.

Candidates must be able to work the assigned shift schedule, including flexibility to support business needs which may involve rotating schedules, evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or overtime as required.

Employees in this position will routinely work in areas where peanuts and related allergens are present and may be exposed by contact or in the air. The pay for this role in the state of Texas is $16.50 per hour and is based on position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or other determining factors.
