Job summary

Daybreak Foods, Inc. seeks a Sanitation Technician to clean and sanitize egg processing equipment daily, following shifts. The schedule rotates: three days one week, four days the next. The technician reports to the Processing Supervisor and will work in a fast-paced egg-processing environment.

Responsibilities include disassembling and reassembling equipment, handling chemicals and high-pressure cleaners, maintaining GMP compliance, and keeping records. English and Spanish skills are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in sanitation in a food plant preferred.
• Willingness to learn egg-specific equipment.
• Familiarity with GMPs or equivalent practices.
• Ability to speak English; Spanish desirable.

Job description

Summary

The Sanitation Technician is responsible of cleaning and sanitizing the egg processing equipment on a daily basis following the processing shift. The schedule will be working for three days one week and four days the following week-continuing with this rotation. The Sanitation Technician will report to the Processing Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for dissembling, cleaning, sanitizing and reassembling the processing equipment on a daily basis
• Requires working with chemicals, high pressure cleaning equipment, manual scrubbing, use of a hose and simple mechanical tools
• Maintain training on the correct use of equipment, chemicals and their MSDS’s
• Review the sanitation chemicals with the supervisor including use, mixing, appropriateness, etc.
• Responsible for record keeping/paperwork
• Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
• Maintain equipment and keep in good repair
• Other duties as assigned

Education And/or Experience

• Previous food plant sanitation experience is highly desirable
• Training for egg specific equipment would be provided
• Familiarity with GMP's or equivalent practices is highly desirable

Physical Demands

Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 10 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and water, and chemicals. Temperature is regulated for operations standards. Cooler temperatures occur in specific areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions. Employees are required to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) due to working in a food manufacturing environment (hairnets, clean clothes, etc.).
