Job summary

The Neil Jones Food Company in Vancouver, WA, is seeking a Sanitation Supervisor to oversee all sanitation and janitorial duties and ensure adherence to SOPs and GMPs. This leadership role reports to QA and Operations and supports sanitation program implementation.

Responsibilities include coordinating with QA, HR, Production and Maintenance, updating sanitation documentation, and preparing materials for audits and vendor communications.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in sanitation management programs for food processing operations.
• 2 years’ experience supervision in manufacturing environment; union environment preferred.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check; able to work extended hours and weekends during peak season.

Salary Range: $80,169.00 To $83,900.00 Annually

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are seeking a Sanitation Supervisor to o versee all sanitation and janitorial related duties and other various general labor tasks for the facility. This leader ensures conformance to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s). Communicates technical points of course content and demonstrates the capability to answer unexpected questions of sanitation related materials. Serves as subject matter expert on sanitation and tools used by the sanitation team. Supports the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversees the facility’s sanitation and janitorial programs; provides guidance and direction to personnel to ensure all aspects of processes are in compliance.
• Schedules staff to timely satisfy business requirements; adjusts work procedures and scheduling to meet production schedules.
• Supports management of QA, HR, Production, and Maintenance departments by communicating on current and future production schedules, current and future audit schedules, current and future planned plant start-ups and test runs, and current and future scheduling of employees of the sanitation department to accommodate plant needs.
• Organizes and updates as needed: Standard Sanitizing Operating Procedures, Master Sanitation Program, and all other sanitation documentation for the NWP Plant as needed.
• Supports the QA Manager with presentation material or other data for vendors, customers, auditors, management, and other plant employees.

Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in general studies, business, or food industry production operations; Bachelor’s degree preferred; or, any equivalent combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the position.
• 2 years’ experience in sanitation management programs for food processing operations.
• 2 years’ experience supervision in manufacturing environment; union environment preferred.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check and able to work extended hours and weekends, particularly during the fresh pack season (late June – November).
