The Neil Jones Food Company in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to oversee daily QA operations in a high-volume food processing plant. You will supervise QA personnel, coordinate laboratory functions, and ensure final products meet strict quality specifications in partnership with Production.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 3+ years in food manufacturing, and prior supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; or equivalent experience to perform key responsibilities.
• 3+ years in a food/beverage manufacturing environment; lab experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience required.
• HACCP, Thermal Processing, PCQI, and SQF certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA and laboratory operations across canning and juice production in a high-volume environment.
• Supervise QA staff across shifts; plan scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, HARPC, and SQF; maintain audit readiness and regulatory inspections.
• Collaborate with Production to monitor CCPs, vacuum, brix, pH, and other quality parameters; make real-time decisions.
• Manage product holds, traceability, and non-conformance investigations; drive root-cause analyses.

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor to be responsible for the effective daily operations of Quality Assurance (QA) Department in a food processing plant, the direct supervision of QA personnel and laboratory functions. Coordinates with production to ensure that final products meet quality specifications. This leader will be responsible for accurate control of product into quality segregated lots according to proper procedures at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA.

• Lead Food Safety & Quality operations across canning and juice production in a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Supervise and develop QA staff across shifts, including scheduling, training, and performance management
• Ensure compliance with FDA, HARPC, and SQF requirements, including audit readiness and regulatory inspections
• Partner with Production to monitor key quality parameters (CCPs, vacuum, brix, pH, etc.) and make real-time decisions
• Manage product holds, traceability, and non-conformance investigations, including root cause and corrective actions

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, Sciences, Business or other related field preferred; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the keyresponsibilities of this position.
• 3+ years of experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment; direct lab experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience required.
• HACCP, Thermal Processing, PCQI, and SQF certification preferred.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, and credit screen, and to work extended schedule and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early November.
