Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a Food Safety, Sanitation & Operational Supervision leader to oversee daily kitchen and service operations, ensuring compliance with HACCP and safety standards while guiding a team.

You will train staff on sanitation practices, monitor temperature logs, inspect equipment, and collaborate with leadership to maintain high quality and cost efficiency across locations.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assigns, and directs daily work to ensure operational standards and departmental expectations are met.
• Trains employees on food safety, sanitation, equipment operation, and established departmental procedures.
• Participates in health department inspections and other food safety inspections as needed.
• Inspects equipment for cleanliness, safety, and proper operation; maintains maintenance logs and notifies leadership of equipment issues requiring attention.
• Inspects dishwashing machines to verify proper operation, final-rinse temperatures, and appropriate air-drying procedures for cleaned items.
• Ensures cleaning supplies are adequately stocked and that proper cleaning procedures are consistently followed.
• Verifies that required sanitation supplies and safety materials are available and properly maintained in all locations.
• Ensures proper labeling, dating, storage, and rotation of food products to maintain food safety standards and minimize spoilage and waste.
• Monitors and completes temperature logs for coolers, freezers, and ice machines, and conducts spot checks of cooking, hot-holding, cold-holding, and cooling temperatures across all areas.
• Completes monthly safety and sanitation checklists for all assigned areas, ensuring compliance with company policies, HACCP guidelines, and applicable health and safety regulations.
