Job summary

Fortune Fish & Gourmet is seeking a Sanitation Associate for the Theodore, AL facility on 1st shift. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of cleanliness to ensure product quality and process integrity, working closely with operations staff.

You will dismantle and sanitize seafood processing equipment, clean facilities, and handle chemicals safely. The position requires at least one year in food processing sanitation and English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of cleaning experience in a food processing environment.
• Ability to work in wet, cold environments and wear heavy protective gear.
• Foundational understanding of safe chemical handling practices.
• Adherence to GMP, HACCP, and OSHA standards.
• Strong team player with a positive attitude.
• English verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, clean, and sanitize seafood processing machinery and tables.
• Clean and disinfect drains, floors, walls, and shipping/receiving areas.
• Safely handle, dilute, and store industrial cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain records of cleaned areas per SOP.
• Keep cleaning supply closet organized.
• Develop sanitation solutions in collaboration with operations.
• Report contamination concerns to supervisor.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
