Job summary

Fortune Fish & Gourmet in Bensenville, IL is seeking a Sanitation Associate for the 2nd shift to maintain cleanliness of facilities and equipment, ensuring product quality and process integrity.

You will work with operations to follow SSOPs and GMP/HACCP, report contamination or safety hazards, and lift up to 50 pounds in a wet, cold environment. This role requires a team mindset and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ years of janitorial or sanitation experience in food processing preferred.
• Ability to work in wet, cold or freezing environments.
• English verbal communication skills are required.
• Willingness to work second shift and weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, walls, drains, and maintain an organized workspace.
• Disassemble, scrub, and sanitize seafood processing equipment, tables, and conveyors per SSOPs.
• Safely dilute and apply heavy-duty cleaning chemicals and sanitizers.
• Monitor cleanliness and report contamination or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Sign sanitation logs and ensure GMP, HACCP compliance.
• Keep supply closet orderly and clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
