Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital is seeking a Sanitation Specialist to join our Environmental Services team in Charleston. You will be responsible for removing and transporting all recycling and waste, including regulated medical and hazardous waste, while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or equivalent and 1+ years in housekeeping or healthcare environments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ years in housekeeping or service-related field preferred.
• 1+ years of healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Remove and transport all recycling and waste (solid, regulated medical, universal, pharmaceutical, hazardous).
• Perform general Hospitality Associate and Environmental Services duties as needed.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation policies.
• Maintain Environmental Services uniforms and personal appearance at all times.
• Follow storage, handling and disposal policies for RMW, hazardous waste, solid waste and universal waste.
• Manage waste and recycling to meet or exceed facility cost goals.
• Support service recovery as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of waste holding/storage areas.
• Deliver and remove solid linen as needed.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• Responsible for removal and transport of all recycling and waste (to include solid waste, regulated medical waste, universal waste, pharmaceutical, RCRA/hazardous waste).
• Also able to perform general Hospitality Associate, Environmental Services I duties when needed.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation policies.
• Maintain and adhere to Environmental Services uniform and personal appearance standards at all times.
• Adhere to policies related to storage, handling and disposal of RMW (regulated medical waste), RCRA/Hazmat, solid waste and universal.
• Manage waste/recycling in order to meet/exceed facility waste and recycling cost goals.
• Manage service recovery as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness of waste holding/storage areas.
• Delivers clean and removes solid linen as needed.

High School Graduate Or Equivalent Preferred

• 1 + years of experience in housekeeping or service-related field preferred
• 1+ years of experience in healthcare preferred
