Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc seeks a Sanitation Manager to lead the site sanitation program and ensure a safe, compliant, production-ready facility. You will own sanitation performance, including food safety compliance, environmental monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will train and lead the sanitation team, manage the budget, support on-time production, and drive corrective actions with the FSQA team. Strong HACCP/GMPs knowledge and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years sanitation experience in food manufacturing.
• 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Proficiency in cleaning systems (CIP, COP) and chemical cleaning training.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, WHMIS/GHS, First Aid and LOTO procedures.
• Direct experience with environmental monitoring programs is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot quality issues under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement a strategic sanitation program ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Lead and train sanitation team in cleaning processing equipment and plant environment.
• Own the sanitation department budget, monitor spending and drive cost-effective solutions.
• Support on-time production start-up and minimize downtime.
• Own environmental pathogen monitoring program and drive corrective actions.
• Execute sanitation audits and maintain action plans with the FSQA team.
• Update SSOPs and adhere to Maple Leaf Foods sanitation standards.
• Manage all facility chemicals and sanitizing agents, including storage.
• Uphold GMPs and OSHA-compliant safety practices.
• Lead continuous improvement and on-the-floor problem solving.
• Collaborate across functions to support company food safety programs.
