Job summary

Maker's Pride is hiring for a sanitation role in Grand Rapids, MI. The position requires following SSOPs to clean production equipment, ensuring safety, hygiene, and food safety. You will record sanitation activities and inform supervisors of progress or non-routine issues.

Familiarity with cleaning programs (MSS, PEM, Non-PEM), COP/CIP systems, and chemical handling is needed. Weekend work may be required; prior sanitation experience in an industrial food setting is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred and six months experience in a sanitation environment.
• Must have Industrial Food Sanitation experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize idle production equipment following SSOPs.
• Perform cleaning and verification for MSS, PEM, and Non-PEM programs.
• Monitor supplies and notify supervisor when stocks are low.
• Understand and apply chemical concentrations and safety guidelines.
• Operate aerial lift as needed.
• Follow COP and CIP systems.

Job Summary

Follows procedures and SSOPs to perform cleaning on production equipment to ensure safety, hygiene, and food safety. May record information to reflect sanitation activities and issues. Advises/updates supervisor/manager of progress and or other non-routine issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follows established procedures in the cleaning and sanitation of idle production equipment.
• Completes activities and verification for cleans and programs including MSS, PEM, and Non-PEM.
• Advises supervisor when supplies need to be ordered.
• Familiarity and understanding of testing for chemical concentrations.
• Familiarity with chemicals and their purpose and uses.
• Familiarity with COP and CIP systems.
• Aerial lift operation.

Language Skills

English Language ProficiencyMust be able to read, write, and speak English clearly to understand work instructions, safety guidelines, document issues, and communicate effectively with team members and leadership. Spanish is a plus.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; at least six months experience in a sanitation production environment preferred. Supervisory skills are desired. Must have some Microsoft Office skills.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Multi-shift production operations may be expansive, noisy, wet/humid and vary in temperature from refrigerated environment, ambient or warm in summer months depending on facility.
