Job summary

Pilgrim’s is hiring for a sanitation position at our United States plants. This hourly role focuses on cleaning equipment, production areas, and facilities to meet USDA and company sanitation standards, with emphasis on safety and quality.

You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, using cleaning tools and chemicals, following SOPs, and collaborating with teammates to maintain a safe, organized workplace. The base pay starts at $17.75 per hour with a $1.00 shift differential and benefits after 60

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Experience: Poultry, food industry, or manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Skills: multitask, work quickly in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail, and good communication.
• Physical: ability to work in refrigerated environments 10°F to 40°F, lift 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize production equipment, tools, and work areas per USDA standards.
• Prepare, mix, and apply cleaning chemicals following PPE and safety rules.
• Inspect areas after sanitation and report issues or hazards promptly.
• Maintain an organized, safe workspace and proper storage of tools and chemicals.
• Collaborate with team to complete sanitation tasks efficiently and safely.
• Follow SOPs, safety, food safety, and biosecurity guidelines.
• Perform additional sanitation duties to support production readiness.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize production equipment, tools, and work areas according to USDA, food safety, and company sanitation standards.
• Prepare, mix, and safely apply cleaning chemicals while following all PPE and safety requirements.
• Inspect equipment and areas after sanitation to ensure proper cleanliness and report any issues or hazards promptly.
• Maintain an organized, safe work environment by removing debris, rinsing surfaces, and ensuring proper storage of tools and chemicals.
• Work collaboratively with team members to complete sanitation tasks efficiently and support a positive, safety‑focused environment.
• Follow detailed sanitation procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and all safety, food safety, and biosecurity guidelines.
• Perform additional sanitation duties as needed to support production readiness and meet operational goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

• Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Experience: Poultry, food industry, or manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Skills: Ability to multitask and work quickly in a fast‑paced environment, have good communication skills, ability to comprehend instructions and apply common sense, have strong attention to detail, and must be a team player.
• Physical requirements: Ability to work in a refrigerated environment with temperatures ranging from 10°F to 40°F, standing for extended periods of time, and able to lift 40 lbs.
