Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Sanitation Supervisor to oversee all sanitation activities on the production floor, ensuring the facility meets sanitation, food safety, and regulatory standards. You will coordinate the sanitation team, monitor cleaning processes, and verify compliance with USDA/OSHA regulations to keep the plant safe and ready for high-quality production each day.

The role requires strong attention to detail, leadership of a team (20+ employees preferred), and ability to address issues

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma/GED; College degree preferred.
• Experience: 1+ years supervisory experience; 20 employees preferred.
• Skills: Clear communication, independent decision making, basic computer knowledge, strong organization and attention to detail.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct all sanitation activities to meet company, USDA, and regulatory standards.
• Lead, train, and schedule sanitation team members for proper cleaning procedures and safe practices.
• Conduct pre-op and post-op inspections to verify sanitation effectiveness and document compliance for audits.
• Monitor chemical usage, cleaning methods, and equipment performance, ensuring proper handling.
• Respond to sanitation-related issues during/after cleaning shifts to maintain production readiness.
• Maintain sanitation records, logs, checklists, corrective actions, and audit docs.
• Ensure safety regulations, PPE use, lockout/tagout, and safe chemical handling.
• Take on additional responsibilities to support the Operations Team.

Sanitation Supervisor

GENERAL SUMMARY:

In this key role, you’ll serve as the frontline leader overseeing all sanitation activities within our Pilgrim’s poultry processing plant. You’ll ensure the facility meets all sanitation, food safety, and regulatory standards while supporting efficient plant operations. Working primarily on the production floor during sanitation shifts, you’ll coordinate sanitation team duties, monitor cleaning processes and equipment, and verify compliance with USDA, OSHA, and company sanitation procedures. The role also requires strong attention to detail and the ability to address issues in real time—ensuring the environment is safe, clean, and ready to support high-quality production each day.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee and direct all sanitation activities to ensure the facility, equipment, and tools are cleaned and sanitized according to company, USDA, and regulatory standards.

• Lead, train, and schedule sanitation team members, ensuring proper execution of cleaning procedures and safe work practices.

• Conduct pre-op and post-op inspections to verify sanitation effectiveness and document compliance for food safety audits.

• Monitor chemical usage, cleaning methods, and equipment performance, ensuring appropriate concentrations, handling, and maintenance.

• Respond promptly to sanitation-related issues during and after cleaning shifts, troubleshooting problems to maintain readiness for production.

• Maintain accurate sanitation records, including checklists, logs, corrective actions, and audit documentation.

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, reinforcing PPE use, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe chemical handling throughout sanitation operations.

• Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the Operations Team.

What You’ll Need

• Education: High School Diploma/GED; College Degree in related field preferred.

• Experience: 1 or more years of previous supervisory experience with leadership skills of 20 employees preferred. Poultry, food, or manufacturing industry experience is a plus.

• Skills: Effective communication both orally and in writing, capable of independent decision making, must have basic computer knowledge, strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and intermediate to advanced skills in Word and Excel preferred.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
