Job summary

Pete & Gerry’s Organics is seeking a Sanitation Supervisor to lead our facility’s cleaning program. You’ll supervise a 10–15 person team, perform hands-on sanitation, and ensure GMP, HACCP, and safety standards are met while keeping production on schedule.

You’ll train staff, complete daily sanitation logs, follow safety procedures, and partner with Plant Management to uphold product quality and animal welfare goals across our operations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • 3+ years in a processing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sanitation team and implement GMPs and HACCP requirements.
  • Perform hands-on sanitation across the facility and ensure daily logs.
  • Maintain safety and PPE protocols and train staff.
  • Coordinate end-of-day hygiene sweep and waste removal.
  • Report issues to Plant Manager and ensure food safety.

The Role at a Glance:

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for a combination of hands-on sanitation needs for the entire facility, as well as leadership of a small sanitation team of 10-15 employees. The position involves the development and implementation of the highest level of sanitation practices, while closely following GMPs, safety standards, and HACCP requirements.

  • On time punctuality and good attendance
  • Always where PPE’s when handling and using any chemicals (safety glass’ and gloves are the minimum)
  • Rinse, foam, scrub and wash, rinse and then sanitize the following:
  • Pre-loader
  • Loader
  • Orientator Table
  • SpoolsWashers
  • Dirt Detector
  • Crack Detector
  • Scales
  • Dryer
  • Transfer
  • Packers 1-20
  • Drop Brushes
  • Pre and Post process Floors
  • Gutters
  • Drains
  • End of day hygiene sweep of entire processing plant – remove waste and debris
  • Lead sanitation team in any specific needs of the facility
  • Comply with all food safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and process efficiencies
  • Report any food safety issues to any Plant Manager
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures per safety training
  • Complete all daily sanitation logs
  • Put all cleaning supplies and tools away at the end of each shift
  • Assist co-workers as needed
  • Comply with Food Safety and GMP requirements at all times
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.
  • All issues or non-conformances related to quality assurance or food safety must immediately be reported to the Quality Assurance Supervisor or departmental supervisor/manager for communication with the Quality Assurance Manager.

Work Schedule & Hours:
  • Monday through Friday
  • Shifts up to 8 - 12 hours per day, based on operational needs
  • Typical start time: 4:00 PM
  • Start and end times may vary due to truck arrivals, order fulfillment, machine downtime, or production changes
  • Flexibility required to adjust schedule as needed
