Job summary

Pete & Gerry’s in Greencastle is hiring a Sanitation Technician to clean and sanitize processing equipment, floors and drains nightly. You will work independently to uphold food safety standards while supporting the production team.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, and experience in a processing environment or cleaning tasks is preferred. This is a hands-on position with shift flexibility and a strong commitment to animal welfare and quality.

• Experience in a processing environment preferred.
• Cleaning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rinse, foam, scrub and wash, then sanitize equipment and areas nightly (pre-loader, loader, tables, spools, washers).
• Clean floors, gutters, drains and processing areas; ensure end-of-day hygiene sweep of the plant.

The Role at a Glance:

In our Greencastle location, we are responsible for packing and shipping eggs to stores all over the United States. The Sanitation Technician will be responsible for all work-related activities in relation to cleaning and sanitizing all processing equipment, floors, and drains on a nightly basis. This person must be able to work independently and efficiently.

• Loader
• Orientator Table
• Spools
• Washers
• Dirt Detector
• Crack Detector
• Scales
• Dryer
• Transfer
• Packers 1-20
• Drop Brushes
• Pre and Post process Floors
• Gutters
• Drains
• End of day hygiene sweep of entire processing plant – remove waste and debris

Work Schedule & Hours:

• Shifts up to 12 hours per day, based on operational needs
• Start and end times may vary due to truck arrivals, order fulfillment, machine downtime, or production changes
• Flexibility required to adjust schedule as needed
