Somafina in Layton, UT is seeking a Sanitation Associate to perform daily sanitation of machine parts, tools, and utensils, and to keep all facilities free from contamination. The role also restocks PPE gowning rooms, PPE Kanban kits, and PPE shelves.

Qualifications

Position Description

The Sanitation Associate is responsible for the day-to-day sanitation of machine parts, tools, and utensils, and for maintaining all facilities in a condition that protects against contamination of components, dietary supplements, equipment, and contact surfaces. This role is also responsible for the day-to-day restocking of PPE gowning rooms, PPE Kanban kits, and PPE supply shelves.

Facility & Equipment Sanitation
  • Cleans all machine parts, tools, and utensils as soon as they are placed in the dirty parts WIP area.
  • Keeps all gowning rooms stocked with PPE, clean, and in order.
  • Keeps PPE Kanban kits and supply shelves stocked, clean, and in order; reports when PPE shelves are low on any item.
  • Removes trash from all waste cans and keeps them lined with clean bags.
  • Maintains walkways and halls throughout the facility in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Performs housekeeping of washrooms, lunchrooms, offices, and closets.
  • Assists in production room cleaning.
  • Cleans air handling vents.
Exterior & Grounds Maintenance
  • Removes litter and waste from the exterior of the facility.
  • Cuts weeds or grass, as needed, within the immediate vicinity of the physical plant so that it does not attract or harbor pests or provide a place for pest breeding.
  • Maintains parking lots so that they do not constitute a source of contamination in areas where components, dietary supplements, or contact surfaces are exposed.
  • Monitors the adequacy of drainage areas that may contribute to contamination by seepage, filth, or other extraneous materials, or by providing a breeding place for pests.
  • Ensures the disposal of production waste so that it does not constitute a source of contamination in areas where components, dietary supplements, or contact surfaces are exposed.
  • Washes barrels as needed and keeps points of use and storage areas stocked.
  • Palletizes and wraps dirty barrels in counts of 40 for vendor pickup.
  • Receives and inspects barrels as they are delivered by vendor.
  • Prepares cardboard boxes for compression, compresses them, and wire-bails them when the machine is full.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Adheres strictly to company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; converse and listen; taste or smell.
  • Employee must exert up to 60 kg. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, and must be able to lift 25 kg. or more with assistance from others or the use of lifting devices.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
