Job summary

Tyson Foods in Newbern, TN is seeking a 3rd shift sanitation associate. Schedule: Monday - Friday with possible Saturdays; hours 7:30 pm until finished. Pay: 23.65/Hr.

plus 1.00 shift differential. Work will occur in temperatures at or below 35°F and may require lifting up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing, assembling/disassembling equipment, using high-pressure hoses and chemicals, and ensuring SQF 2000 and USDA compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be willing and able to work in temperatures at or below 35°F for a minimum of 8 hours.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Able to operate high-pressure hoses and sanitation chemicals safely.
• Commitment to Tyson’s Lock Out/Tag Out program and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment, maintaining a safe work environment.
• Assemble and disassemble equipment as needed and assist with setup.
• Use high-pressure hoses to rinse areas and floors; apply sanitation chemicals as directed.
• Visually inspect areas for cleanliness and compliance with SQF 2000 and USDA requirements.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance and USDA; perform other tasks as assigned by lead/supervisor.

Job Description

• This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work areas and, assembling and disassembling equipment while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
• Dry pickup area.
• Break down and set up equipment where needed.
• Use of high-pressure hose to rinse area and floor.
• Use of various chemicals to foam and scrub floor.
• Visually check area for cleanliness.
• Ability to work closely with Quality Assurance and USDA.
• Uphold the principals of SQF 2000.
• Work schedule will vary depending on production Perform various other tasks as assigned by Lead person, Supervisor or Superintendent.

Requirements

• Must be willing and able to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit temperature for minimum of 8 hours.
• Ability to become certified in Tyson’s Lock Out/Tag Out program.
• Must be willing and able to pinch/grip product/equipment.
• Familiar with safe operation and use of high-pressure hoses and sanitation chemicals.
• Must be willing and able to perform the following task for periods of 8 hours on concrete floor, some of which may include but is not limited to bending, twisting, reaching, standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting.
• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.

• Must have 6 MThs continuous employment in the last 18 months. Preferred candidates will have at least 6 MThs of relevant machine operator, warehouse, agriculture or production experience.
