Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an experienced RN for the SANE Program in Evanston Hospital's Emergency Department. The nurse will independently perform medical forensic exams for adult/adolescent survivors and provide compassionate, timely care in the ED or on an inpatient unit.

Must hold Illinois RN licensure, complete AA SANE training, and ideally have forensic nursing experience. BSN preferred; Epic literacy or training after hire is required, with collaboration across law enforcement and legal

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
• Completion and certification of AA SANE training or SANE certification approved by the Illinois Attorney General.
• Prior experience in forensic nursing preferred.
• Computer literacy for Epic or training after hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of SANE with knowledge of forensic collection, STIs, medications and trauma-informed care.
• Attends SANE meetings for peer review and information dissemination to ensure compliance with Professional Forensic Scopes and Standard Practices, SASETA, and Illinois Nurse Practice Act.
• Works collaboratively with the Emergency Department, Violence Prevention Program, police departments, resilience teams, and the Illinois SANE Coordinator.
• Attends courtroom proceedings related to sexual assault cases.
