Job summary

Endeavor Health's RN SANE Program in Evanston Hospital’s Emergency Department seeks a per-diem Registered Nurse who can perform medical-forensic exams and provide compassionate care to sexual assault survivors. You will work with ER physicians, survivor advocates, law enforcement, and legal professionals in a high-stakes environment.

The role requires IL RN licensure, BSN preferred, AA SANE certification, and Epic literacy with on-call duties (minimum 16 hours every six weeks).

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Illinois
• Certification in AA SANE training through OAG or approved by SANE Coordinator
• Prior forensic nursing experience preferred
• Pass computer literacy for Epic or training after hire

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of SANE with knowledge of forensic collection, STIs, medication and vicarious trauma toward the survivor
• Attends SANE meetings for peer/chart review and information dissemination to ensure compliance with standards
• Works collaboratively with the Emergency Department, Violence Prevention Program, and police departments
• Attends courtroom proceedings related to Swedish Hospital sexual assault cases
