Job summary

Silvi Materials is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our sand plant in West Creek, NJ. The role focuses on operating and maintaining heavy equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting quarry operations.

The position offers 3rd shift hours (9:00 PM–5:30 AM) with potential 12-hour workdays. A valid driver’s license and experience with loaders/dredges and other heavy equipment are preferred. Excellent benefits and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License.
• At least one year operating heavy equipment.
• Able to work 2 p.m.–10 p.m. shift; Saturdays as needed.
• Experience operating loader; dredge/other equipment preferred.
• Technical school training in welding/electrical/maintenance preferred.
• Quarry/mining experience a plus.
• Knowledge of mechanical failure causes and repairs.
• Familiarity with OSHA/MSHA safety regulations a plus.
• Ability to work independently with urgency.
• Flexible to changes in priorities and deadlines.
• Comfortable with heights and outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Clear, grub, strip, excavate and backfill material at a quarry.
• Construct berms and grade to final level.
• Load sand from stockpiles to trucks or trains.
• Estimate load size and avoid over/under loading.
• Perform daily heavy equipment inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Assist in general maintenance of mine areas and other duties as assigned.
