Job summary

Silvi Materials in West Creek, NJ seeks a Maintenance Mechanic (Sand Plant) for the 9:00 pm–5:30 am shift. You will service heavy equipment, perform daily inspections, and support sand mine operations, ensuring smooth production and safety compliance.

Ideal candidates bring 1+ year of heavy equipment experience, the ability to work outdoors in all weather, and willingness to train on dredge-related tasks. Competitive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Minimum 1 year of heavy equipment experience.
• Ability to work 2 PM–10 PM and Saturdays as needed.
• Dredge experience preferred; willingness to train.
• Experience operating loader with skid steer/dozer/excavator/haul truck preferred.
• Technical school training in welding/electrical/maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clears, grubs, strips, excavates, backfills, ditches, stockpiles and pushes various types of material found at a quarry.
• Constructs berms, excavates and grades to final grade.
• Loads sand and sometimes small stone from a stockpile to a truck and/or train car.
• Estimate load size for a vehicle and avoid over/under loading.
• Load a truck without spillage and perform general cleanup around all areas.
• Perform daily heavy equipment walk-around inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Other tasks as assigned, including labor and general maintenance of mine areas.
