Job summary

Truist seeks an experienced sanctions compliance analyst in Winston-Salem to conduct timely investigations of sanctions alerts with a strong OFAC focus. You will gather information from Relationship Managers and branch staff to determine disposition.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least four years in financial services or a government agency, plus deep knowledge of U.S. sanctions regulations, with precise documentation of findings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least four years of relevant experience in a financial institution or government agency.
• Strong understanding of U.S. economic and financial sanctions regulations (OFAC) and ability to assess regulations against fact patterns.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures, policies, and regulations and work independently under time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely investigations, analysis, and disposition of sanctions-related alerts for clients, transactions, and other activities to support compliance with sanctions laws.
• Communicate with senior Relationship Managers and teammates to gather additional client information for investigations.
• Serve as a point of contact for internal sanctions-related questions and support.
• Apply critical thinking to determine disposition and follow-up actions for each alert.
• Use research and screening tools to assess sanctions risk and exposure.
• Maintain knowledge of current and proposed sanctions laws and regulations.
• Participate in sanctions and AML/CFT training to stay updated on regulations.
