Job summary

Truist in Greensboro, NC, seeks an experienced sanctions compliance investigator to conduct timely investigations of alerts related to clients, transactions, and trade documents in alignment with OFAC and other sanctions laws.

You will gather client information, liaise with Relationship Managers, and apply critical thinking to determine dispositions while staying current on evolving sanctions regulations and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• At least four years of relevant experience at a financial institution or government agency.
• Understanding of U.S. sanctions regulations (OFAC) and ability to assess regulations.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and work independently under time constraints.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to liaise across teams and external entities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely investigations and disposition of sanctions-related alerts for clients, transactions, trade documents, and other business unit activities.
• Communicate with Relationship Managers and teammates to gather additional client information.
• Serve as a point of contact for internal sanctions-related questions and support.
• Apply critical thinking to make well-supported decisions regarding alert type, follow-up, and disposition.
• Use research and screening tools to assess sanctions risk and exposure.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable current and proposed sanctions laws and regulations.
• Participate in sanctions and AML/CFT training.
• Keep aware of national and world events and industry trends relating to sanctions compliance.
