Job summary

MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES in Columbus, OH is hiring a Sample Receiving Technician to oversee the receiving and processing of samples. The role includes training new technicians and answering technical questions as part of lab workflow management.

Responsibilities include handling documentation, managing the LIMS log, and communicating sample issues to clients. A high school diploma and laboratory experience are required, with benefits available for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in laboratory with knowledge of safety procedures; Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience specific to Receiving departments preferred.
• Proven experience with data entry and clerical skills.
• Advanced interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Client Service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the smooth transition of the lab workflow in receiving and processing samples; train new Sample Receiving Technicians.
• Support department with technical training needs and questions on documentation and procedures.
• Log in samples in the LIMS system and assist with re-typing worksheets and work-orders.
• Communicate sample problems to internal/external clients by telephone and discuss follow-ups.
• Schedule lab assignments when leadership is unavailable; ensure samples are accounted for daily.
