Job summary

ALS is seeking a Sample Preparation Technician to join the Sample Preparation Department. You will work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs, performing tasks like ringing, sieving, crushing, and logging production activities.

Ideal candidates have good hand-eye coordination, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team, with basic English communication.

Qualifications

• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work in a hot and dusty environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks.
• Lift up to 50lbs; assistance may be required.
• Desk-based administrative tasks as needed.
• Be cleanly-shaven to wear protective equipment.

About The Role

• Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervision
• Loading and unloading drying ovens under supervision
• Maintain own production logs;
• General cleaning duties for basic lab cleanliness;
• May assist with layout duties/tasks
• Handling compositing, screen metallics, special handling requests, etc;
• Inspecting equipment and inform senior employee if adjustment is required;
• analytical quality
• Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned.

About You
