Job summary

ALS is seeking a Sample Preparation Technician (P2) to work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs within the Sample Preparation Department.

You will perform ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing and splitting under supervision, load/unload drying ovens, maintain production logs, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods.
• Ability to work in a hot and dusty environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; assistance may be required for heavier lifts.
• Sit at a desk and perform general office tasks as needed.
• Be cleanly-shaven to wear protective equipment.

About the role

Within the Sample Preparation Department, the Sample Preparation Technician (P2) will work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs.

Responsibilities

• Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervision
• Loading and unloading drying ovens under supervision
• Maintain own production logs;
• General cleaning duties for basic lab cleanliness;
• May assists with layout duties/tasks
• Handling compositing, screen metallics, special handling requests, etc.;
• Inspecting equipment and inform senior employee if adjustment is required;
• analytical quality Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned.

About you

• Good hand-eye coordination

• Basic alpha/numeric comprehension
• Basic English communication skills (written and verbal).

• Be cleanly-shaven in order to wear protective equipment.
