Job summary

Cache Valley Hospital in Utah is seeking an RN for Same Day Surgery PRN to provide high-quality patient care during operative and invasive procedures. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and smooth surgical flow.

You will educate patients and families about the peri-operative process, prepare patients, manage IV therapy and medications, participate in site verification, and respond to emergencies while upholding evidence-based practices and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• RN (Registered Nurse) credential.
• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing.
• One or more year of experience in Surgical Services.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of start date.
• PALS within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about the peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative meds and site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies with safe nursing care.
• Deliver evidence-based care and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
• Assess patient condition, monitor and document changes throughout shift.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment and follow-up.
