Job summary

Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a PRN Same Day Surgery Nurse to join our OR team. You will evaluate patients before surgery and provide education to patients and families throughout the perioperative process.

You will prepare patients for procedures, manage IV therapy, verify surgical site, participate in time-out and debriefing, and collaborate with surgeons, nurses and techs to deliver safe, evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Associate degree in nursing.
• Strong patient-care and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the perioperative process.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification, briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while following evidence-based practices.
