Job summary
Northwestern Medicine in Illinois is seeking a Registered Nurse for Same-Day-Surgery to provide high-quality nursing care on a full-time, on-site basis. The RN will use the nursing process to assess patients, develop care plans, administer medications, and support discharge planning per unit standards.
Candidates must hold a BSN, an Illinois RN license, and BLS certification; ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within three years is acceptable.
Qualifications
- BSN required; RN license in Illinois.
- American Heart Association BLS required.
- Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years.
Responsibilities
- Performs assessments for assigned patients following unit guidelines.
- Develops and updates nursing care plans with interdisciplinary input.
- Administers medications and treatments safely and educates patient/family.
- Coordinates discharge planning and communicates changes with providers.
- Maintains documentation of care and patient responses.
