Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is currently seeking a Registered Nurse for Medical-Surgical-Oncology to join our Full-Time Days team in Illinois. The RN will use evidence-based nursing care, perform assessments, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and support discharge planning for oncology patients.

Requirements include a BSN, current IL RN license, and BLS certification. ADN holders may pursue a BSN within three years.

Qualifications

BSN is required.
Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
Associate Degree Nursing acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years.

Responsibilities

Performs established nursing procedures in accordance with hospital policies and standards.
Completes patient assessments reflecting age-specific variables and needs.
Initiates patient care conferences and updates the plan of care with the interdisciplinary team.
Administers medications and provides pain management and education to patients and families.
Communicates patient status changes to the care team and coordinates discharge planning.
Documents treatments and patient responses accurately and timely.
Follows Standards of Care and OSHA guidelines to ensure safe patient care.
Supports patient and family as active participants in the care plan.
