Job summary

Qualifications

• This position requires an Associate degree or Diploma in Nursing.
• Current State of Illinois RN Licensure.
• OR-BLS and ACLS certifications as required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interview surgical patients and coordinate care; clear charts for surgery.
• Develop patient care plans in preparation for surgery.
• Perform nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation.
• Ensure patient safety and reduce errors per National Patient Safety Goals.
• Collaborate with Anesthesia to clear patients for surgery.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, staff.
