Job summary

Every Asset Counts- Lead the Yard, Support the Mission

Turn organization, accountability, and leadership into mission-critical impact. As the Salvage Yard & Records Supervisor, you’ll oversee government-owned accountable materials, lead day-to-day salvage yard operations, and ensure accurate records and reporting. From managing excess and surplus property to coordinating scrap materials and supporting government reporting requirements, you’ll play an important role in keeping materials moving, records accurate, and operations running smoothly.

As the Salvage Yard and Records Supervisor here's the work you'll do:
  • Supervises Equipment Inventory Specialist and assists with duties during their absence. Coordinates daily activites of salvage yard and advise customers on excess/surplus sale items being offered. Provides support to Property Manager.
  • Submits material asset postures & AMC-R 740-27 reports to Joint Munitions Command (Rock Island Army HQ). Submits transactions to Rock Island for updating accountable material records in their Logistics Modernization Program (LMP). Performs material transactions for movement or usage through the demil process. Completes service entries in SAP for purchases.
  • Operate forklift to load/unload trucks, transport items and upkeep of virtual grids of scrap yard by utilizing safe and proper methods. Prepare documentation of scrap metals received at salvage yard for entry in SAP.
  • Organize excess/surplus items to be sold. Maintain electronic files of items to be sold for creation of sale booklets for revenue generation.
  • Performs research for ammuntion lots produced at MLAAP when requests are received from IAAAP, Third Party customers and the Government. Furnish
  • Maintain Milan's ATF Firearms Acquistion & Ammunition Disposition Bound books in AIMI System.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of hazardous materials, material records systems, and salvage yard operations.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in the preparation of reports and documents. Ability to meet reporting requirement dates.
  • Ability to develop an understanding of ATF regulations for ammunition disposition.
  • Good leadership and supervisory skills. Skilled in communicating expectations effectively to employees and customers.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
  • Associate’s Degree (AA) Preferred
  • 4+ years of material or related experience Required
  • Valid Driver's License Required

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is$55,040- $82,560annually. Please note that this range is not a guarantee of compensation; final offer amounts may vary based on experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on the date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
