As a Development Technician, you’ll work alongside engineers and technical teams to bring projects from concept to completion. From conducting experiments and testing equipment to gathering data, troubleshooting problems, supporting equipment installations, and improving processes, you won’t just watch engineering happen, you’ll be part of it!

As the Development Technician here's the work you'll do:
  • Provides assistance to Engineers or other Scientists in engineering projects, technical studies or development functions.
  • May act as liaison between the chief of an engineering project and personnel performing work in the field to assure that equipment is fabricated and processes are performed according to specifications; may conduct studies or assist in the design and development of processes, procedures and equipment and recommends changes.
  • Compiles data, prepares technical reports and evaluations, performs experiments, investigations and special tests.
  • May act as an engineer on certain projects.
  • May prepare requisitions, specifications, perform bid analysis, coordinate deliveries and assembly of equipment with users.
  • May perform building inspections and prepare reports on surveys and problem areas as assigned.
  • May coordinate improved maintenance procedures within the Mechanical Division. Prepares procedures, analyzes records and prepares recommendations on improved equipment management programs.
  • Exercise initiative, independent judgment and discretion.
  • Assures that he/she understands the necessity to continuously improve processes and systems under their control and to meet customer needs, both internal and external.
  • Maintains familiarity with, observes and trains the staff in Safety, Environmental (RCRA), and Health requirements.
  • Performs operations generating hazardous waste solvents. The hazardous waste solvents in the accumulation area must be properly maintained. EPA RCRA hazardous waste regulations require weekly inspection of containers, preparation or weekly inspection record, proper container labeling and ensure drums are closed when not being filled.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
And if you have these qualifications:
  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required.
  • Associate's degree from two-year college or technical school in Drafting/Engineering Preferred.
  • Broad experience in a technical area.
  • Must possess a valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, which includes the gold or black star in the upper corner OR current passport, indicating it is federally compliant.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to collaborate with team members is essential for contributing to a cohesive work environment.
  • Successful completion of a background screening process is mandated for all candidates.

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws,the salary range for this role is $52,160-$78,240.This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements)
