Job summary

BDO USA, PC in Houston is seeking a Tax Intern for SALT who will perform basic research and analysis of state and local tax issues, and assist in preparing tax returns and filings under supervision.

You will work alongside experienced Tax professionals to learn SALT concepts, refine analytical and communication skills, and gain hands-on exposure to tax software such as Caseware and Go Systems within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting, Taxation, Finance or other relevant field.
• Pursuing Juris Doctorate (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM) is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Tax Methodology: Applies understanding to deliver quality tax services.
• Tax Compliance: Ensures clients comply with authorities and firm policies; assists in filing.
• Research: Completes basic research on federal and state tax issues.
• Tax Consulting: Learn basics of state tax planning and participate in client meetings.
• Tax Specialization: Develops understanding of key tax issues.
• Strategy Development: Assists in preparing tax presentations for client meetings.
• Tax-Related Software: Uses Caseware and Go Systems under supervision.
